Back in December we released software for developers to set up their own Afero Hub devices on a Raspberry Pi (https://developer.afero.io/docs/en/?target=StandaloneHub.html, if you missed it).
The Hub Software includes two components, the hub daemon itself (which we call “hubby”) and a daemon that acts as a layer between BlueZ, the Linux bluetooth stack, and hubby. We’re happy to release the source for Beetle today for the developer community to use.
We’ve had some questions from developers on implementing their own kinds of Afero Hub devices, and we’re releasing the Beetle source to help those developers get talking to the BlueZ stack.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or if you need something from us to help make your product a success, we’re always here to help!
